Welcome to my Blog, a Crafting Year

Hello
I taught myself to knit in 2011 I have been posting photos of my knitting creations on facebook but as I am starting to bore my friends I have created this blog to record my progress. Then I thought I might try my hand at other crafts and see how I get along. I will try a different craft every month and you can read about my successes and failures and even laugh at my photos as I try different things like felting, crochet, sewing, papercrafts etc and try and make a few things from the kids favourite book Star Wars crafts, amongst others...lets see how it goes

Sleeves

Sometimes I have to mull over a knitting problem and my favourite way is by taking the dogs for a long walk. Fresh air, peace & quiet gives me time to think. Thats what I did yesterday and I had my lightbulb moment. I didn't need to unpick my stitches, just turn the work inside out (or right side in) doh!
But it still seemed a bit wrong. A quick visit to my lovely friend and knitting guru Rosemary who turned my work 90 degrees and I was off again.
Now I have to increase the arms every six rows until they are long enough...and make 2 of them.

So my next task is to research increasing as I am not happy with the result when I increase as it leaves a litte hole which I think is messy and bugs me.
I have been using the M1 (Make One ) which is not supposed to show much.

I have had a look on the forums of ravelry so will be searching the internet for videos to find a way to increase that I like. As for the increases I have already done on the jumper body I will have to sew over the gaps. Please let me know any ideas you have for this.

Happy Knitting!
Sharon
